Featuring the signature of David Brearley, a prominent figure in early American history who signed the US Constitution, this note holds significant historical value. Also, Philemon Dickinson, a states man and important revolutionary in his own right and younger brother to founding father John Dickinson.
Signed by:
David Brearley – NJ Supreme Court Chief Justice. Officer in the New Jersey militia which played an important part in the revolution. Representative to the Constitutional Convention of 1787 and signer of the document along with 38 others.
Philemon Dickinson played an important part in the Revolutionary War and was appointed to command the entire New Jersey Militia in 1777. He represented the State of Delaware at the 1782 -1783 Continental Convention. Owning property in both states, he sat in the New Jersey Legislature as a Senator from 1790-1793.
