Obsolete Currency
U.S. Obsolete currency generally refers to bank notes and scrip issued between 1782 and the late 1860s that were not Federal issues. These notes are obsolete in the sense that they can no longer be redeemed. They include postal notes, private company scrip and numerous private and community concerns.
