Description
Civil War era 1861 – 1865 Daniel Webster Grocer Store Card. During the US Civil War, there was a major coin shortage, businesses and states issued there own tokens to get by.
This is designated Fuld NY F-95F-3a. This type categorization exists as many different die combinations were used by private die sinkers on these 19th century tokens.
Name and address on the obverse and I O U 1 Cent in beaded circle on reverse surrounded near the edges with two heads and arrows. Kind of weird.
Non graded copper with cut in the edge at 12 o’clock with a tool or scissors.
